This 3-part interactive training series will provide participants with the knowledge of Government Contracting, its variations, eligibility requirements, and application processes. The series will provide insight to the multiple opportunities available through contracting with the Government as well as introduce small business owners to the
importance of small business certifications and designations. It will also provide course participants with a platform to ask questions and minimize concerns with the process.
This virtual 3-part training series introduces small business owners to the world of Government contracting at all levels: local, state, and federal.
The series will cover the following:
(a) types of Government contracting;
(b) eligibility requirements;
(c) set asides and specialty business certifications/designations; and
(d) the application process (Duns & Bradstreet number, cage number, DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) certification, state certifications, etc.)
Course 1: Government Contracting 101
This course provides a general overview of Government Contracting at all levels. This includes its benefits, eligibility requirements, and small business set asides. The Students will have a general understanding of what Government Contracting is and how their business could benefit.
Course 2: Business Set Asides & Certifications
This course will present detailed information on the different types of Government set asides available for businesses and provide an overview of the certification process to benefit from such set aside. Students will gain knowledge of why being certified is advantageous to scaling their business.
Course 3: Bidding on Government Contracts
This course provides detailed insight on how to search to search for Government contracts, understanding the contract requirements, and an overview of bid packaging. Students will have a better understanding on how to seek opportunities and what to provide when trying to obtain a contract.
